Material Matters: The Science of Our Style

At JABO, the physical material of a product is just as important as its digital design. The feel, durability, and finish of an item are determined by the polymer it’s printed with. We use two premium, specialized materials—PLA and PETG—to ensure every product not only looks great but is perfectly suited for its intended use.

For Everyday Elegance: Plant-Based PLA

For the majority of our products, we use PLA (Polylactic Acid). PLA is a bioplastic derived from renewable, plant-based resources like corn starch.

Why we love it:

  • Eco-Conscious: It’s a more sustainable choice compared to petroleum-based plastics.

  • Crisp Details: It excels at producing sharp details and clean lines, making it perfect for our minimalist and intricate designs.

  • Vibrant Color: PLA offers a rich variety of colors and finishes, from matte to silk.

PLA is the ideal material for indoor decorative pieces and desktop organization, bringing style and function to your space.

For Lasting Durability: Resilient PETG

When a design needs to withstand tougher conditions, we turn to PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol). This is a highly durable and versatile copolyester, part of the same family of plastics used for water bottles.

Why we use it:

  • Heat & UV Resistance: PETG can handle higher temperatures and direct sun exposure without warping or degrading, unlike PLA.

  • Superior Strength: It is stronger and more flexible, making it resistant to impact and stress.

This makes PETG the ideal material for any product designed for outdoor use, offering the weather resistance and durability needed to stand up to the elements.

The Right Material, Every Time

Our commitment is to deliver a product that you can rely on. By selecting the optimal material for each design, we ensure your JABO piece will perform beautifully and last for years to come. You can find the specific material used for any item listed in the Specifications section on its product page.
